Dr Alberto Fusi

I began working at St George’s as an ICVI funded Senior Lecturer and Consultant in December 2016. I am specifically interested in how to combine immune therapeutic strategies to improve treatments for melanoma. I have expanded the melanoma trial portfolio at St George’s with both commercial and non-commercial studies. I work with 2 research nurses and a data manager, also partially funded by the ICVI.
I am also interested in the discovery of biomarkers in cancer immunotherapy and the ICVI team is ideally suited to perform such studies where blood samples from the clinic need to be specially prepared and analysed on site. I am working closely with the ICVI laboratory team on an extensive translational research programme which commenced in 2019.
My team is funded entirely by donations received by the ICVI. I am really grateful to everyone who helps the ICVI by fundraising and sending money in to the charity.
