David Hurst Parry 1936 – 2024

A wonderful brother, brother in law, uncle, friend to many and partner to June. 

Dave was first diagnosed with a malignant melanoma over a decade ago. After a lymphadenectomy he began a course of treatment under ‘The Prof’, Professor Angus Dalgleish. This treatment continued for nine years.  During this time he led a full life which was remarkable as initially he had been given a grim prognosis! 

I know that Dave had great respect for ‘The Prof’. He was very appreciative not only of the team’s care and attention at St.George’s but greatly admired the level of research and pioneering work that Professor Dalgleish undertook. I think also there was a shared passion for cars!

Dave had great determination to live and was extraordinary tenacious.

Sadly Dave became very ill in July 2024 and died in St.George’s Hospital on 26th July aged 88. He did well!
